Sagada Chronicles: Journey to Sagada

According to blogs, it would take us about 12 hours going to Sagada… 12 hours of anticipation… 12 hours of rollercoaster ride…

At around 6 AM I was on my way to our meeting place. Mcdo Mindanao Ave. With 4 hours of sleep, and I haven’t had to withdraw my pocket money for the trip. I gathered my money (nervous because the place where I decided to withdraw my money is not safe…) and rode a jeep going to SM North and decided to walked until Mindanao Ave, an early morning jogging while carrying my huge backpack. In Mcdo, I saw Raine. We had our breakfast while waiting for the others. Our journey officially started around 8:30 AM.

12 hours of ride along mountains!

We decided to take the Banaue-Bontoc road but we need to drop by to Cabanatuan to meet another member.  My relatives were from Nueva Ecija but I didn’t had the chance to tour NE as far as Cabanatuan (sa may Robinson lang ang nararating ko). That was a first for me; to see Talavera, San Jose and other places in NE.  We had our lunch on San Jose, Nueva Ecija, in a small karinderia beside the last supermarket you will see before you travel mountain by mountain…

Along the way,  I cant’s sleep, everything is beautiful, but a little bit scared… puro trees, puro mountains plus our driver is kaskasero, nagoovertake sa gilid ng bangin…
Around 6 PM, we reached Banaue, we checked the famous Banaue Rice Terraces! The Eight Wonder of the World! Huwooow!

We continue our journey going to Sagada. Mountains here, there everywhere!! There some areas that make me pray hard, feels like at any moment, there will be landslide… So scary, good thing that the local government of Ifugao or Department of Public Works and Highways is now focusing on cementing the road of Banaue-Bontoc for lesser travel time :D

We reached Bontoc around 8 PM and started to go up, the road going up to Sagada is very steep,  and I admit, my imagination is working nonstop. Can’t focus because I was afraid to look, scared to see things that scares me the most… Ghost!
this was taken the day after we arrived in Sagada

We arrived in Sagada around 9 PM, we reside on Residential Lodge. Buti open pa ang Salt and Peppers where we had our dinner and then called the night off...

Sagada Chronicles continues on the next post :D
